Not only has London been choked with appalling smog, but my flat is wrapped in the dirty wood, steel pipes and blue mesh of scaffolding. The days continue to be grim and grey with almost no light. No wind comes up to blow the smog away and the air tastes like the bottom of an unwashed ashtray. A few drops of rain fell today (about five) but they were more particulates than actual water. The five minute hail storm on Saturday followed by a spectacular sunset seems like a dream now.
