What my life felt like in 2020, lurching from one crisis to the next, none of which I could deal with given the heights of my anxiety (exacerbated by the pandemic).  It felt as if I was struggling to climb one barbed wire fence only to find another beyond it.

PREMONITION

Inspired by the Exodus Sequence novella, Shattered, which you can buy here.
In the story, Mars is actually called Deimt as the name "Mars" wouldn't be attributed to the planet for another 50 000 years or so.  But for the purposes of this piece of microfiction, I had to use planet's current name as the punchline was otherwise lost.  The old duke referred to is Martin Galinthia.  "Downtown Galinthia" refers to the moon Galinthus, the old White Shadow name for the moon Miranda which orbits Uranus.  

ENERGY CRISIS
